Little Bear Creek Conservation Area

This 40-acre property has 2,273 feet of frontage on Little Bear Creek and is entirely surrounded by public lands.

Natural Features

The property is comprised of diverse forests and wetlands. Little Bear Creek flows through the property from the Little Bear Flowage to the south. Large red and white pine are scattered amongst the young aspen and fir trees, and a small pocket of white cedar is present along the shoreline of the creek. Several mammals have been documented on the property, including the elusive moose.

There are no maintained trails on the property. Despite this, there are several game trails and old logging roads that meander through the property. A small, natural surface parking area is present on the property just south of Highway 47.

HISTORY

In May of 2024 NWLT purchased the property. Read about the project and moose habitat here.
