We’re Reaccredited! The Mark of Distinction for Land Trusts
We’re excited to announce that the Northwoods Land Trust (NWLT) was reaccredited in December of 2024 for its third five-year term.
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands in perpetuity.
According to Ted Anchor, NWLT’s executive director, “The accreditation process is comprehensive and covers all aspects of land trust operations from the creation of new conservation projects to the monitoring of those properties on into the future, along with the governance of an organization and its overall fiscal health.”
“Reaccreditation is akin to an almost year-long marathon, and we are both pleased to have crossed the finish line and to know that NWLT is performing up to the highest standards when providing invaluable conservation services to private landowners in northern Wisconsin,” added Ted.
