The Northwoods Land Trust’s Shoreland Protection Initiative is currently being promoted to shoreland residents in Vilas County and Langlade County. If you are resident in these two counties, and have sizable acreage and/or shoreland, please contact us regarding land protection options that are available to you.

The Initiative aims to permanently conserve extensive stretches of natural shoreline on lakes, ponds, rivers and streams to leave a lasting legacy. Our priority is to help concerned landowners conserve sizable properties, especially those on water, to collectively protect our world-class natural resources before they become degraded and polluted.

The Initiative is funded in part by a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Lake Protection grant and is supported by partners including the Vilas County Lakes & Rivers Association, Vilas County Land & Water Conservation Department, Langlade County Land Conservation Department, Langlade County Waterways Association and others.
