Family Donates Land in Sugar Camp to Become Tower Nibiiwan Conservation Area

NWLT received a generous gift of 31 acres of land from Dave and Kathy Noel. The Tower Nibiiwan Conservation Area, a name given by the Noels, is in Sugar Camp in Oneida County. It features a small, three-acre scenic bog pond surrounded by wetlands, black spruce-tamarack forest and rolling forest.

The Noels worked hard over the past several years to turn the property into a quiet recreational haven for nearby residents. Now the public is welcome to enjoy the one-mile trail network year-round.

The expenses related to this project were supported by grants from the Arthur L. & Elaine V. Johnson Foundation, James D & Jane P Watermolen Foundation and several private individuals and families.
