Trade Lands Program
If you are interested in conserving a property, but it is less than 10 acres in size or has less than 500 feet of natural shoreline, and is not adjacent to already conserved land, the property will likely not qualify for participation in the Northwoods Land Trust’s (NWLT) permanent conservation programs. (But make sure to contact us to find out!)
NWLT sometimes accepts the donation of properties that are not eligible for permanent conservation as ‘trade lands.’ This means that the land is donated to NWLT for the purpose of resale, with the proceeds supporting NWLT’s conservation projects and programs.
NWLT has one trade land property for sale:
Spawning beds for bass and panfish are visible off the shore of this donated 100-foot lot on Pickerel Lake west of Eagle River. The sale of the lot will support our conservation programs. Asking $110,000.
