The Northwoods Land Trust is accepting applications for a new position- Land Conservation Associate.
The Land Conservation Associate provides professional technical support for conservation easements and NWLT-owned conservation lands. Duties and responsibilities include coordinating the management and monitoring activities of NWLT-owned conservation lands; assisting with the monitoring of conservation easement properties; assisting with new land protection projects including conducting field data collection, writing narratives and mapping; and conducting public education, outreach events and field tours.
Applicant qualifications should include conservation land management experience; conservation land and conservation easement acquisition experience is beneficial. A minimum of two years of professional experience with a land trust or conservation agency is preferred. B.A. or B.S. degree in the conservation of natural resources or a related field is preferred, while Associates Degrees in such fields will be considered. Experience with ArcGIS mapping software is essential.
This position is a ¾ to full-time employee of the Northwoods Land Trust with benefits that include retirement, paid vacation, holidays and sick time. The starting wage is between $22.00 and $25.00/hour based on qualifications and experience. A flexible work schedule is offered, with some evening and weekend hours required.
