Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour

June 28 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm

The Northwoods Land Trust is excited to host the Wild & Scenic Film Festival ‘on tour’ at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts on the evening of Wednesday, June 28th.

The festival is a reflection of a network of grassroots organizations connected by a common goal of using film to inspire personal reflection and activism.

Ten films from across the globe will be packed into a two plus-hour program. The films will feature themes of climate, freshwater resources, recreation and community.

Event tickets are now on sale for $20/adult and $12/for youth.

Funds raised will support NWLT’s mission to protect local land and water resources in northern Wisconsin, and will advance special initiatives to protect undeveloped shoreland, old-growth forests and climate-resilient habitat.

A short reception will end the evening, with a complimentary beer from Rhinelander Brewing Company.

2023 WILD & SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL FLAGSHIP EVENT TRAILER

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started by the watershed advocacy group, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) in 2003. The festival’s namesake is in celebration of SYRCL’s landmark victory to receive “Wild & Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River in 1999. SYRCL organizes a flagship five-day festival each year featuring over 150 award-winning films. The home festival kicks-off the international tour to communities around the globe, allowing SYRCL to share their success as an environmental group with other organizations like the Northwoods Land Trust. With the support of National Partners, the festival can reach an even larger audience.
