Old-Growth Forest Dedication & Hike at Beaver Creek Hemlocks

Join us on Thursday, September 7th, at 11:00am for a hike to welcome Beaver Creek Hemlocks Conservation Area into the national Old-Growth Forest Network (OGFN).
A plaque will be presented to the Northwoods Land Trust (NWLT), followed by a hike with NWLT board member and author John Bates to showcase and interpret the outstanding natural features and old-growth forest at Beaver Creek Hemlocks located in Springstead in Iron County. The conservation area will be the 7th Wisconsin forest to be recognized in the Old-Growth Forest Network.

Participants should wear proper attire and bring water and will be hiking for about two miles over varied terrain. Check the weather the day before, as a variety of conditions are possible. This event will happen rain or shine and will only be canceled due to severe weather.
Directions to Beaver Creek Hemlocks Conservation Area – The parking area is located on the east side of Route 182 across from the north end of Beaver Creek Road, in the Town of Sherman, which is located about four miles south of Springstead and 15 miles east of Park Falls.
