Lake Shoreland Ecology Field Trip
July 9 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Wade in the warm, shallow waters at the Maple Lake Public Beach and Boat Landing in Three Lakes to learn how to gauge and monitor the health of your lake shoreline by looking at the shoreland buffer zone condition. Water shoes and a sense of playfulness are necessary.
The field trip is intended for landowners with shoreline on area water bodies. Participants will examine shoreland vegetation, aquatic invertebrates, fish habitat, mussels, aquatic plants, and aquatic invasive species. Examination will be in the water and at the picnic area on shore.
Organized in partnership with Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department.
Learn effective steps you can take today, as well as into the future to enhance or even permanently protect your lake shoreland.
Pre-register no later than July 10th using the link below or by emailing John Heusinkveld at john@northwoodslandtrust.org. This event is free.
