Bog Hike at Tower Nibiiwan Conservation Area

August 12 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm

Join Northwoods Land Trust (NWLT) along with guest Susan Knight, Emeritus Scientist III at UW-Trout Lake’s Center for Limnology, to explore bogs at Tower Nibiiwan Conservation Area – glacially created wetlands relatively common in northern Wisconsin. Learn about plants and unique adaptations required to live in this environment.

The hike will be approximately 1 mile in length over dirt trails and wooden boardwalks. If participants would like to step onto the bog mat, it is recommended to have rubber boots or other footwear that can get wet.  Due to the uneven and difficult bog mat walking surface, participants should have good mobility.

The event will be cancelled in the event of hazardous weather such as heavy rain, wind, or lightning.

To register for the event, please register online (see below) or contact the NWLT office at 715-479-2490 or email troy@northwoodslandtrust.org by August 10.  Space is limited.

This event is a part of the Wisconsin Land Trust Days celebration featuring family-friendly events that take place every year in July, August, and September.
